The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Cardiac Technician RT includes on call for emergent and urgent cases after

operational hours. Candidate will be trained in the following; Prepare patients in a timely matter for various procedures.

Work alongside physician to perform sterile procedures. Monitor hemodynamics and document during procedures.

Daily Xray checks and POCT. Assist lead tech with stocking and maintaining inventory.

Act as a preceptor

Qualifications:

Required:

Licensure: R adiology Technologist license
Experience: Previous hospital experience preferred.
Technical Certificate preferred

Preferred:

BLS, Arrhythmia certificate preferred.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the planning and execution of all educational materials for/to patients and family members.
• Assists and performs emergency cardiac measures according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Assists the cardiologist in performing routine exercise stress test/nuclear stress test, monitors EKG rhythm and reports any inappropriate responses immediately to physician such as EKG rhythm disturbances, complaints voiced by patient such as shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, but not all inclusive. Terminates exercise stress testing under physician’s order.
• Assists with inventory and stocking of exercise testing room.
• Assists with the maintenance of exercise stress testing machine, defibrillator, grasby pump, IVAC pump, according to departmental policy and procedures, as well as cleaning and troubleshooting of equipment. Ensures preventative maintenance is performed on applicable equipment.

• Once patient arrives into department for testing, verifies identity of patient and accuracy of exam ordered. Prepares patient for exercise testing procedure by explanation and demonstration, if necessary, as well as prepping skin per policy and ensuring IV access is obtained and intact. Notify RN if IV access is not intact. Ensure consent is obtained.
