Dispatcher

Summary:

The River Road Rescue Squad is excited to promote the role of Dispatcher for our shared dispatch service, MEDLINK Communications - a division of NJ | Mobile HealthCare. As a dispatcher, you will play a vital role in coordinating emergency medical services and ensuring timely response to patient needs for units operating in and adjacent to multiple 9-1-1 systems across the State. This position is essential to our mission of providing high-quality care and maintaining the trust of the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and prioritize incoming emergency calls for medical assistance.
• Coordinate with EMS teams to dispatch resources efficiently and effectively.
• Utilize GPS and GIS technologies to track vehicle locations and optimize routes.
• Maintain accurate records of calls, dispatches, and patient information.
• Provide phone triage support by assessing the urgency of medical situations.
• Communicate clearly with team members and healthcare providers to relay critical information.
• Manage conflicts or issues that arise during dispatch operations with professionalism.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company protocols.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in dispatching or emergency response coordination is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of first aid and medical terminology is essential.
• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for effective interaction with callers and team members.
• Familiarity with GPS/GIS systems for route optimization is a plus.
• Experience in phone triage or similar roles is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage stress and conflict effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records.
