Our firm is retained to find a highly skilled and proactive Universe Database Administrator. This mission-critical role involves the comprehensive management and optimization of Rocket Universe database systems, ensuring peak performance, integrity, and availability for a major enterprise leveraging MultiValue platforms.

We are seeking a seasoned professional capable of serving as the subject matter expert in a high-stakes, data-driven environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advanced Database Administration: Expertly administer Rocket Universe databases—handling configuration, upgrades, patching, file sizing, and advanced performance tuning, including resolution of complex UV Locks and performance bottlenecks.
• System Integrity & Security: Establish and enforce robust database security measures, user access controls, and compliance with data governance policies, while managing backup, recovery, and Disaster Recovery planning.
• System Development & Improvement: Collaborate with development teams on the design and implementation of new ERP functionality, API components for web and business systems, and third-party integrations.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive the evolution of development methodologies, quality processes, and ensure high adoption rates and user satisfaction across all deliverables.

Qualifications Profile:

We require a proven track record demonstrating deep expertise in both database and system administration:

• Experience: Universe Administration and Linux Server Administration.
• Technical Expertise: Confirmed experience with Rocket Universe or other MultiValue database platforms (e.g., UniData, D3). Strong command of Pick-style query languages, MultiValue data structures, and shell scripting.

Highly Desired Assets:

• Experience with integration tools and APIs for Universe databases.
• Exposure to legacy database cloud migration strategies.
• Knowledge of ERP systems or custom applications built on MultiValue platforms.
• Familiarity with wholesale distribution operations.
• Experience with Java, HTML, or Python.
