Position Summary
AstrodyneTDI is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations within the Filters Business Unit. This role is responsible for supervising a team of approximately 20 employees, including assemblers and test technicians, supporting the production of high-mix, low-volume EMI/RF filter products for aerospace, defense, and medical applications.
The Production Supervisor will oversee production scheduling, staffing, work-in-progress (WIP) management, and performance to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of quality products. This position requires strong leadership, operational discipline, and familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production activities for a team of approximately 13 assemblers and 6 test technicians
- Coordinate production priorities and schedules to meet on-time delivery (OTD) targets
- Manage and control work-in-progress (WIP) to ensure smooth production flow
- Monitor and drive improvements in production efficiency, first-pass yield, and throughput
- Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with AS9100 quality standards and internal procedures
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring adherence to safety policies and best practices
- Support workforce planning including staffing, training, and performance management
- Utilize Epicor ERP to manage production orders, monitor job status, and support operational reporting
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain to resolve production issues and remove constraints
- Lead daily production meetings and communicate priorities and performance expectations to the team
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and operational performance
- Provide hands-on support when necessary to help resolve production challenges or bottlenecks
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience in an electronics or electromechanical production environment
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Familiarity with high-mix / low-volume manufacturing environments
- Experience working within AS9100 or similar regulated quality systems
- Awareness or familiarity with IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-620 standards
- Experience using ERP systems for production management (Epicor preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive operational performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical degree in manufacturing, electronics, or related field
- Experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, or industrial electronics manufacturing
- Prior experience supervising both assembly and test operations
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma
Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000
