Job Description

Direct the installation of plumbing and related systems, equipment, and fixtures. You will be responsible for planning, laying out, participating in, and supervising plumbing work on job sites and in the shop. You will work with considerable independence except on large construction and modification projects, where some technical supervision is provided. Maintenance and repair assignments are received through Teams Construction software, written job requests, and emergency calls. Your work will be reviewed by users of equipment and systems through observation and conferences while projects are in progress and upon completion. Construction and remodeling work is reviewed for compliance with specifications and building codes. You will perform your duties under the general direction and supervision of leads on site.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lay out plumbing work on job sites and in the shop.
• Supervise plumbing work and coordinate with team members.
• Direct the installation of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures.
• Analyze defects in plumbing equipment and determine necessary repairs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, rough plans, sketches, and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with specifications and building codes.
• Work independently on smaller projects and collaborate on larger ones.
• Manage maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in plumbing installation and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Thorough knowledge of plumbing trade practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Experience with cast iron and PVC installations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with cast iron is a big plus.
• Ability to lay out and mark storm or sanitary lines.
• Experience in working with water and temporary water lines.

Work Environment

The team consists of plumbing mechanics and junior mechanics working on various construction projects throughout NJ. The work environment is dynamic, with opportunities to work on both small and large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with safety and building standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morristown, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
