Forklift Operator Sit-Down
Job Summary:
The Sit-Down Forklift Operator is responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to load, unload, move, and stage materials and products in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution facility. The operator ensures safe and efficient material handling while maintaining accuracy in inventory and supporting daily production or shipping schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials.
- Transport products, pallets, and other items throughout the warehouse or production area.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report maintenance or safety issues.
- Follow all safety guidelines, warehouse procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory transactions.
- Assist with order picking, staging, and shipping as needed.
- Keep work area clean and organized to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments.
Job Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Certification: Valid forklift operator certification (sit-down type) as per OSHA standards.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory systems.
- Ability to read and understand shipping documents, labels, and safety instructions.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
