Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacist position is available for an 8-week contract in a Long-Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy environment. This role offers a day shift schedule with hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with possible weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage.
• Ensure that medication supplies comply with legal regulations.
• Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
• Maintain secure and confidential patient records, ensuring meticulous management of pharmacy documentation.
• Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer any questions.
• Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
• Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for external and internal use and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies efficiently.
• Identify drug-related problems and collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare staff.
• Work closely with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Active license with the New Jersey State Pharmacy Board.
• Pharmacy experience required; long-term care experience is a strong advantage.
• Prior experience in New Jersey pharmacy settings preferred.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Potential weekend shifts
