Job Overview:
The Buyer Team Lead is responsible for the training of new and existing members of the Buyer team Purchasing.
They are subject matter experts on Purchasing functions including policies and PeopleSoft.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Associates degree preferred
Three years purchasing or Supply Chain experience
Strongly prefer experience within hospitals with PeopleSoft a plus
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel and TEAMs
Able to perform basic mathematical calculations balance and reconcile figures possess good communication skills
Essential Function:
Peoplesoft system testing to support changes in operations.
Act as a first point of contact for team members with questions.
Procures items and services on behalf of the organization.
They ensure purchasing policies are satisfied in the execution of purchase orders.

Be responsible for obtaining quotes sourcing negotiating cost savings and avoidance policy compliance procuring interfacing with vendors and end users.
Independently balance workload and adhere to timelines deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
Provide team coverage along with handling special projects and other duties as assigned.
Key Competencies
Trainer for the department staff including new and existing members
Lead point person for audit support and information retrieval
Demonstrate competencies in the Purchasing and Accounts Payable modules policies and practices
Subject matter expert for Purchasing and will answer staff questions and help vendors and end users with problem resolution
Ensures a PO Confirmations is obtained within the window than follows up with edits and corrects on the purchase orders or request to update the database to ensure a clean PO to payment path
Reconciliation of the PO Expedite emails within the time requirements
Resolves match exceptions and corrects the root cause to avoid more exceptions in the future
In addition assist coworkers resolve match exceptions
Take a lead position with the onhold vouchers and accrual reports
Respond and take action on Customer Service tickets within the time requirements
Balances and maintain workload include providing support to teammates while adhering to departmental policies procedures and position and department performance standards
Informs management and end users of delays or complications within the process
Able to perform Buyer role provides team coverage and handles special projects as needed
Process and maintain workload within departmental performance standards
Produces updates emails and other communication in a clear and effective manner
Establish and maintain rapport through effective communication and timely follow up with customers coworkers management and outside agencies and vendors
Notify leadership of any production or other unresolved issue and request assistance as necessary
Adhere to department performance matrix standards and Key Performance Indicators
Perform other duties as assigned
