Position: Marketing & Communications Assistant (Part-Time)

Reports to: Director of Marketing & Communications

Department: Marketing & Communications

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Contract Length: 12 months

Position Summary:

Delbarton School, an independent Benedictine Catholic school for young men in grades 7 through 12, seeks a creative, motivated part-time Marketing & Communications Assistant for the 2026–2027 school year. This role will support content creation, social media management, event coverage, alumni communications, and admissions-related initiatives. The Assistant will work closely with the Director to help share the story of Delbarton’s students, programs, and community across a variety of platforms.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating original content, photography, and graphics for Delbarton’s arts, alumni, and admissions social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).

• Cover school events, including arts performances, alumni gatherings, and other key activities, capturing photos and video content.

• Support social media management for admissions and alumni accounts, including content scheduling and engagement tracking.

• Contribute content for Delbarton magazine and other print or digital publications.

• Collaborate with the Director to maintain consistent branding and storytelling across all communications.

• Track engagement metrics and support reporting for digital campaigns.

• Work with faculty and department leads to highlight student achievements and school programs.

• Design and produce a weekly school e-newsletter, coordinating content and layout.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field

• Internships or prior experience in communications, marketing, or social media are a plus, but not required.

• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

• Interest or experience in social media content creation and digital marketing.

• Basic photography and photo/video editing skills.

• Familiarity with design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar).

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

• Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and contribute in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lifting or carrying 1-20 lbs.

• Regular pushing/pulling/bending/stooping/kneeling

• Regularly climbing stairs**

• Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours

• Requires physical presence, work to be performed on campus
