About the Role:
The Smithville Peanut Butter Co. is looking for motivated Bakery/Food Production professionals to join an existing team as we grow our business. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with a team to produce numerous bakery and candy related products for sale in the Smithville Peanut Butter Co retail store, as well as other stores and wholesale accounts throughout the company. This role requires a strong commitment to quality control, inventory management, and adherence to health and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous experience in a bakery, candy shop or food preparation environment.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and food safety standards.
- Have reliable transportation and ability to work a flexible schedule including early/late shifts and weekends as required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in baking or culinary arts.
- Experience with inventory management and ordering systems.
- Customer service experience in a retail or food service setting.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations related to food handling.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package a variety of cookies, candies, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, assisting customers with product selection and answering questions.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new bakery products and promotional strategies to attract and retain customers.
- Operate food processing equipment and machinery to blend or process ingredients
- Inspect ingredients and finished products for compliance with quality standards; identify and remove defective items
- Package, label and seal food products in accordance with company specifications
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils and containers to maintain a safe clean production environment
Compensation Range: $15.49 - $22 hourly
