Reports To: Dining Room Manager / Supervisor; Banquet & Event Manager / Supervisor
Role Purpose: Echo Lake Country Club seeks polished, service-driven Professional Servers to deliver exceptional dining and event experiences for our Members and guests. Servers are ambassadors of the Club and play a critical role in Member recognition, personalized service, and maintaining the highest hospitality standards across all dining outlets and events.
Professional Servers are expected to lead by example, actively assist in training and mentoring support staff, and demonstrate strong food, wine, and beverage knowledge. This role requires attention to detail, confident communication, and a proactive approach to anticipating and fulfilling Member needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver gracious, personalized service with a strong focus on Member recognition, preferences, and special requests.
- Greet Members and guests professionally, using proper forms of address and demonstrating familiarity whenever possible.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus, including seasonal offerings, wine lists, cocktails, and specials.
- Confidently recommend and upsell food and beverage pairings to enhance the Member experience.
- Serve as a leader on the floor, assisting in the training, coaching, and development of support staff (runners, bussers, hosts, etc.)
- Execute service according to Echo Lake standards, including table maintenance, pacing, and presentation.
- Support and actively participate in banquet and event service, including set-up, execution, and breakdown.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper presentation of dining rooms, banquet spaces, and service areas.
- Proactively identify and resolve Member concerns, escalating issues to management as needed.
- Communicate Member feedback, requests, and service opportunities to management Uphold sanitation, safety, and service standards at all times.
- Attend all required staff meetings, training sessions, and tastings.
- Perform all additional duties as assigned in support of Club operations.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Prepare dining rooms and banquet spaces for service.
- Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and service teams to ensure timely and accurate service. Verify order accuracy prior to service.
- Deliver food and beverages using proper service techniques and tray service.
- Maintain table settings, bread service, water service, and overall dining room order.
- Actively bus, stage, and reset tables throughout service with an all-hands mentality.
- Assist with banquet and private event service as scheduled.
- Relay Member feedback and special requests to management.
- Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Professional Server in fine dining or upscale hospitality.
- Strong working knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and service etiquette.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize Members and personalize service.
- Experience assisting with training and mentoring front-of-house support staff.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Proven ability to upsell and manage per-member check averages.
- POS proficiency and strong basic math skills.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining composure and professionalism.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Background check and verifiable references required.
Working Conditions:
- Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, bending, and stretching required.
- Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Open availability required.
Compensation:
- Hourly Wage: $18–$23, based on experience.

Echo Lake Country Club, located in Westfield, New Jersey, just thirty miles from New York City, is an esteemed 18-hole member-owned club with a rich history dating back to 1899.
