About the role
A well-established family law firm in Paramus, NJ is looking for a skilled paralegal to join a busy and collaborative legal team. You'll work directly with attorneys on a full range of family law matters, from divorce and custody to asset division and protective orders. This is a hands-on role built for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, takes ownership of their caseload, and communicates with clients in a way that makes a hard process feel manageable.
What you'll do
Draft and file pleadings, motions, orders, and correspondence across divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution matters
Serve as a key point of contact for clients, keeping them informed and helping them navigate the process with clarity
Manage case calendars, court deadlines, and attorney schedules to keep matters on track
Conduct legal research and gather financial and asset documentation to support litigation and settlement strategy
Prepare hearing and trial binders, organize discovery, and assist attorneys during court proceedings
What you bring
3 to 7 years of paralegal experience in family law or a closely related litigation practice
Solid understanding of NJ Superior Court procedures and e-filing requirements
Strong document drafting skills and attention to detail with no room for error on deadlines
Experience handling sensitive client matters with discretion and professionalism
Associate's or bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience
