Tooling Technician

Staff Management Group is seeking a Tooling Technician for our client in Jamesburg, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

• 3rd Shift: 10PM - 6:30AM
• Plus Overtime

Pay Rate:

• $20 / hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Tooling Technician to support our pet food production operations by maintaining, repairing, calibrating, and fabricating tools, molds, dies, and mechanical components. This hands-on role is essential to minimizing downtime, ensuring food safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and calibration of tools, molds, and dies used in production
• Fabricate custom mechanical components as needed using basic machining and welding techniques
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and optimize tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Utilize precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Interpret and follow technical blueprints, equipment manuals, and schematic drawings
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks and track performance data
• Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, and internal food safety standards
• Accurately document work performed using digital maintenance tracking systems
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve tooling issues quickly
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

Job Requirements:

• MUST be bilingual - English AND Spanish
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with precision measuring tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
• Basic fabrication and welding skills (machining, grinding, etc.)
• Understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety practices in a production setting
• Able to lift 30–50 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks in a production environment
• Proficient in basic computer use for maintenance tracking and documentation
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in teams
