Senior US Tax Manager, Insurance (Relocation To Bermuda)

Our Big 4 client is looking for a US Tax Senior Manager (Insurance Tax) to join its financial services, Insurance Tax practice in Bermuda. You’ll work with international teams across the Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, and Cayman Islands (the “BBC” region), providing complex tax advisory and compliance services to global insurance clients.

The Role

You’ll lead US tax compliance and advisory engagements for major insurers, reinsurers, and captives. The work spans US federal, international, and state tax, alongside advising on the new Bermuda Corporate Income Tax regime. You’ll help clients structure transactions, establish new entities, and operate efficiently across multiple jurisdictions.

You’ll manage relationships with senior client stakeholders, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure exceptional delivery across the region’s growing insurance portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

● Lead US tax compliance and advisory work for insurance and reinsurance clients
● Advise on structuring transactions, new entity setup, and cross-border operations
● Manage tax compliance accounts, including general insurers, reinsurers, and captives
● Provide guidance on the newly implemented Bermuda Corporate Income Tax legislation
● Apply deep knowledge of ASC 740 and related insurance tax matters
● Mentor and develop junior staff, while maintaining high-quality client service

What You’ll Need

● 7–8+ years of US tax experience, ideally within the insurance sector
● CPA, Enrolled Agent, or US Lawyer qualification (or ability to obtain within a year)
● Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and corporate income tax for insurance companies
● Leadership, team management, and client relationship skills
● Big 4 or equivalent experience preferred
