About the Role
You'll be the face of Joyleaf — the person guiding customers through their visit, answering questions with warmth and care, and helping each guest leave with the product that fits their life. This isn't just retail. It's part educator, part guide, part host. No two days look the same, and no two customers do either.
You'll report to the General Manager and take day-to-day directions from the Shift Lead or Supervisor on duty.
A Typical Day
- Welcoming guests as they come in and making them feel at home from the first hello
- Using a customer-centric service model and cannabis knowledge to understand the customer’s needs and match them with the right product for them
- Ringing up sales and handling cash with accuracy and care
- Opening or closing the store alongside your team
- Staying flexible with the flow of the floor during busy hours so every guest gets the attention they deserve
- Representing Joyleaf in the community with the same energy you bring to the floor
What We're Looking For
You'll do well here if you:
- Genuinely enjoy people — and can read a room
- Communicate clearly, listen closely, and stay calm under pressure
- Pay attention to details others miss
- Have experience in customer service, retail or hospitality (required)
You'll also need to:
- Be 21 or older (a New Jersey requirement for dispensary work)
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Cannabis experience? Nice to have, not required. We train you on everything you need to know about our products and the Joyleaf Way.

- In-person interview with Joyleaf management. Meet the leaders you'd be working alongside and see the space.
- A hands-on activity. A short, hands-on activity where you can experience the role in real time and we can see you in action.
The physical part
You'll be on your feet for most of your shift, moving between the sales floor and the back of house. You'll regularly lift and carry boxes up to 10 lbs, and occasionally up to 30 lbs. You'll spend time at a computer and at the register, and you'll be in active conversation with guests and teammates throughout the day.
