Job Overview:

The Birth Certificate Representative ensures that all information required by the NJDOHSS Bureau of Vital Statistics Electronic Birth Certificate program and Paternity Opportunity Program is collected and accurately entered into the NJDOHSS EBC software program within the time frame mandated by NJDOHSS regulations.

Qualifications:

Required:

• A high school graduate, or equivalent
• At least 1-year related experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift – 7:00am-3:00pm
• Monday-Friday including weekend and holiday
• Part Time-Day

Essential Functions:

• Obtains information for the proper completion of a Certificate of Live Birth for each infant delivered
• Enters all Birth Certificate information into the electronic Birth Certificate (EBC) computer system and prints a legal Birth Certificate
• Assures signatures of parents, as mandated by the Department of Health regulations
• Ensures timely completion and entry of all EBC into the system and transmits birth certificate data to the Department of Health on a routine basis, in a timely manner
