Presently, our HORIBA Scientific OSIS Division is searching for an experienced Lead Test Engineer for our North American operation located in Piscataway, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will possess a strong and proven test and measurement background for volume production validation of all electronic circuit boards incorporated into our analytical instruments and light detecting systems involving CCDs, PDAs, InGaAs, and CMOS sensors and related to both spectroscopy and imaging applications.If you are a self-motivated individual with a passion for your work that has garnered success in leading and contributing to team-oriented product development efforts, please keep reading and visit our corporate website to learn more
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree preferred in electrical engineering or computer engineering with 7+ years of directly related experience.
- Minimum of a BSEE degree with 10+ years of directly related experience.
- Will accept 15+ years of equivalent engineering design experience associated with test and validation of electronic circuit boards for data acquisition products and/or analytical instruments requiring a high level of field-deployed reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the test methods and procedures needed to transition products from design into volume manufacturing.
- Design accurate test circuits to validate functional performance of end-product detector/camera electronic board assemblies incorporating low-noise analog, power, and high-speed digital circuitry and interfaces.
- Design, document, and maintain test fixtures for a volume electronic board turnkey manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with the internal design team and external contract MFG to identify, define, and resolve test issues.
- Analyze and interpret test results to identify design and/or test-related problems.
Requirements:
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles in both analog and digital circuits
- Familiarity with low-noise analog and mixed-signal circuits involving op-amps, voltage references, LDOs, DACs, ADCs, and discrete semiconductors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in circuit design for test and validation
- Experience with circuit modeling and simulation techniques
- Ability to guide and oversee PCB CAD designers for test fixture board design and development
- Familiarity with test equipment, including oscilloscopes, DVMs, power supplies, and Function Generators
- Sound test & troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Testing knowledge of electronic boards used in CCD/CMOS detector/camera products
- Experience testing densely populated surface mount electronic boards
- Background in LabVIEW programming a plus
- Previous supervisory experience
