What You Need to Apply:

• Enrollment in an accredited institution that maintains an affiliation with The Guidance Center
• Active pursuit of a mental health–related degree (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.)
• Submission of an official transcript from your college or university
• Possession of a valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean five-year driving record that meets organizational standards and qualifies for insurance coverage.
• Completion of a criminal background check conducted by the agency

Position Overview:

As an intern at The Guidance Center, you will work alongside a task manager and receive supervision from a licensed clinician. Throughout your experience, you'll gain insight into the population we serve, our case management model, and the standards for professional documentation. This internship is designed to provide meaningful, practical learning while allowing you to make a positive impact in the lives of our clients.

The Guidance Center, you will assist with progress notes, treatment plans, and program intakes. You'll offer guidance, positive role modeling, and advocacy for clients while participating in team meetings and treatment planning. Additional responsibilities may include supporting the development of social, daily living, and survival skills, as well as encouraging clients to access community resources and services.
