As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a high-level relationship builder and strategic thinker to join our leadership team as Director of Business Development.
This is not a traditional recruiting role.
This individual will play a critical role in the future growth of Cornerstone Planning Group by identifying, attracting, and developing relationships with financial advisors who align with our vision, culture, and long-term mission. The ideal candidate is highly organized, emotionally intelligent, process-oriented, and exceptional at communication.
For candidates who are passionate about coaching, mentoring, and helping financial advisors grow professionally, this role also presents a unique opportunity to contribute to advisor development and long-term firm leadership.
Role Highlights
As Director of Business Development, you will help drive the strategic growth of the firm through advisor recruiting, relationship management, process development, and advisor support.
Advisor Recruiting & Relationship Development
- Identify and engage prospective financial advisors who align with the firms culture and vision
- Build and maintain strong relationships with advisor prospects throughout the recruiting process
- Communicate the firms value proposition with confidence, clarity, and authenticity
- Create an exceptional candidate experience from initial outreach through onboarding
- Develop long-term referral and networking relationships within the industry
Strategic Growth Initiatives
- Help execute the firms long-term growth strategy
- Collaborate with leadership on advisor acquisition initiatives and expansion opportunities
- Continuously improve recruiting systems, workflows, and communication processes
- Track recruiting pipeline metrics, advisor conversations, and business development activity through CRMsystems
Advisor Development & Coaching
- Support the growth and development of advisors within the organization
- Assist with mentorship initiatives, accountability structures, and professional development programs
- Help create systems and processes that improve advisor success and retention
- Contribute to building a scalable growth-oriented advisor culture
Operational & Organizational Excellence
- Maintain highly organized systems and workflows
- Manage multiple projects, timelines, and ongoing relationships simultaneously
- Develop processes that improve efficiency, accountability, and communication across the organization
- Stay current on industry trends, recruiting strategies, and advisor growth best practices

Experience
- Experience in business development, recruiting, relationship management, financial services, coaching, consulting, or a related field preferred
- Experience within the financial advisory/RIA industry is strongly preferred
- Leadership, coaching, or mentorship experience is a significant plus
Technology & Systems
- Technology experience preferred (Wealthbox, GoHighLevel, LinkedIn)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication platforms
- Ability to learn and adapt to evolving systems and technology

Compensation
Compensation structure will be based on experience, qualifications, and the ability to contribute to the firms long-term growth initiatives.
Performance incentives and long-term growth opportunities are available for the right candidate.
