Vice President-Applied AI/ML Lead

As an Applied AI/ML lead in the Digital Document Management team, you will design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable, and innovative technology products that transform how documents are processed and managed. You will use advanced AI and machine learning to extract, analyze, and manage information, driving strategic business outcomes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor others, and continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Job responsibilities
- Lead the development and integration of AI-powered document management solutions, focusing on extracting information and insights from diverse document types
- Employ advanced natural language processing, generative AI, and large language models to automate and optimize document workflows
- Collaborate with business systems to ensure seamless integration and data flow
- Design, implement, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms to enhance document processing and prediction capabilities
- Oversee the full MLOps lifecycle, including model design, experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance in production environments
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of AI/ML solutions
- Analyze large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights and inform business decisions
- Develop effective visualizations and reporting tools to communicate findings to stakeholders
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in AI/ML, software engineering, and testing
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Contribute to communities of practice and explore new and emerging technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field, with relevant industry experience
- Hands-on experience in Python programming; familiarity with Java and front-end technologies (React.JS, AngularJS)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (Mongo Atlas, ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, Neo4J)
- Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pytorch Lightning)
- Knowledge of generative AI models (GANs, VAEs, transformers, diffusion models)
- Experience with MLOps practices and cloud platforms (AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, GCP, Azure)
- Skills in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS)
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle, agile methodologies, and data engineering
- Experience deploying and maintaining AI/ML solutions in large-scale, production environments
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in financial services, especially investment banking or credit risk operations
- Expertise in agentic AI frameworks, prompt optimization, and fine-tuning SLMs
- Familiarity with distributed computing, data sharing, and DDP training
- Experience in design/code reviews and mentoring teams
