The Selection Development Camp Boathouse Operations Contractor plays a key role in delivering a high-performance, well-organized, and memorable experience for athletes and coaches at both the U19 Selection Development Camp and the International Rowing Challenge. Working alongside the Camps and Athlete Development Associate, this position helps bring daily on-water and boathouse operations to life. This role provides immersive, hands-on experience in boathouse management, rigging, equipment maintenance, and event logistics within a national-team development environment. The contractor will collaborate closely with Selection Development Coaches and international coaches traveling to Ford Lake, gaining valuable exposure to elite rowing operations and international competition preparation. Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily boathouse operations before, during, and after training sessions, ensuring launches and equipment are fully prepared for all water practices, IRC training, and racing sessions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional boathouse that supports safe and efficient operations
- Support rigging, repairs, and routine equipment maintenance as directed by the Camps and Athlete Development Associate
- Assist with logistics related to transportation, equipment movement, and operational needs for both SDC and the International Rowing Challenge
- Provide on-site support to international coaches with equipment and facility-related needs. Communicate requests, concerns, or operational issues from international coaches to USRowing staff in a timely and professional manner
- Assist in maintaining accurate organizational records related to equipment usage, maintenance, and requests by actively utilizing established reporting systems.
- Contribute to overall camp success by performing additional duties as assigned.
- Enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with a strong interest in athlete development and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex camp logistics with precision, organization, and accountability. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- USRowing Level 1 Coach Certification required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance camp environment.
- Previous experience in rowing, coaching, or camp operations preferred.
- Must be available for 3–5 required pre-camp virtual meetings and training sessions.
- Availability for the full duration of the Selection Development Camp from June 15-July 12.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and sustaining prolonged physical activity (e.g., standing, walking, moving equipment)
- Salary $2750
- USRowing will provide travel to and from Selection Development Camp as well as room and board for the duration of the camp.
