Job Summary

A well-established public accounting firm in Thorofare, NJ is seeking an experienced Director of Assurance & Quality Control for a direct hire leadership opportunity with a defined path toward Non-Equity Partnership. The Director of Assurance & Quality Control will play a key role in leading the firm’s assurance practice, strengthening quality control standards, mentoring staff, and supporting continued practice growth. Key Responsibilities

- Lead the firm’s Assurance and Quality Control functions, ensuring engagements meet professional standards and internal quality expectations.
- Review audits, reviews, compilations, financial statements, and engagement files for accuracy, compliance, and technical quality.
- Mentor, coach, and develop assurance professionals while supporting team performance and career growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, maintaining strong relationships and delivering high-quality client service.
- Partner with firm leadership on strategic initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and assurance practice growth.
- Support business development efforts, expand client relationships, and contribute to building a sustainable book of business.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $170,000 to $185,000 per year.
- 20% commission on self-generated new business.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Non-Equity Partner Track targeted in approximately three years, subject to partner approval.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead assurance and quality control functions for a public accounting practice.

- Partner with firm leadership on client service, practice growth, and strategic initiatives.

- Active CPA license required.
- 10 to 15+ years of public accounting experience.
- Extensive experience with audits, reviews, and compilations.
- Strong experience reviewing financial statements and engagement files.
- Proven leadership, people management, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong understanding of professional standards, assurance procedures, and quality control practices.
- Must reside within 25 miles of Thorofare, NJ.

- Peer Review experience.
- Quality Control or Professional Practice Standards experience.
- Technical Accounting expertise.
- Corporate and Partnership tax return experience.
- Business development experience with the ability to cultivate new client relationships.
