The New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) is a state agency responsible for maintaining the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway - two of the busiest toll roads in the United States. Everyday, the Authority's highways provide the safest, quickest, and most convenient routes for hundreds of commuters, truckers, and recreational travelers.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is seeking applications for a Software Engineer in the ITS department, located at the Woodbridge, NJ headquarters.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director ITS Software Engineer, the Software Engineer - Admin System will assist the ITS Enterprise Asset Management group in the development and maintenance of software applications that support the analyzing, planning, and forecasting of the life cycle and total ownership costs of the Authority's enterprise assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operation support for Enterprise Asset Management systems, which includes monitoring, emergency response, change management, demand forecasting and capacity planning.

• Perform timely escalation of critical production environment incidents, and proactively identify patterns of reoccurring incidents to improve service capabilities.

• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of application and software issues.

• Develop tools to automate repetitive tasks and routine maintenance activities.

• Application and user maintenance of various in-house and commercial off-the-shelf software.

• Support in design, develop, test, and deploy enhancements.

• Develop ad-hoc queries and develop reports.

Document software development, testing and deployment procedures.

BENEFITS & PAY:

This position is eligible for flex time hours upon meeting the requirements outlined in the Authority's policy and at the Authority's ultimate discretion. Additionally, this position is eligible for telework upon meeting the requirements outlined in the Authority's policy, such as performance expectations and applicable waiting periods, and at the Authority's ultimate discretion. Flex time and Telework is not guaranteed. Toll-free commutation is available for employee travel to and from work on the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway.

This position is represented by AFSCME Local 3914. Members will receive an annual increment (PIP) to their base salary per the guidelines of the CBA. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• An in-depth knowledge of inventory, and work orders systems are required.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

• Five (5) or more years of experience in software development.

• Experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database development.

• Knowledge of enterprise asset management software such as Infor/Hexagon EAM, Gasboy, and Bridge inspection software.

• Extensive experience in solving complex technical and business problems.

• Able to work under pressure and possess multi-tasking capabilities.

• Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work as a team member and independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to work with diverse teams.

• Demonstrated experience with application support.

• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

• Possess a valid New Jersey driving license.
