Job Overview:
The Injury Prevention Coordinator plays a critical role within the Trauma Center by developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive community-based programs aimed at reducing injury across the lifespan. This role requires strong analytical skills, as programs are created from the assessment of injury trends, trauma registry data, and community health indicators. The Coordinator also serves as a subject-matter expert on injury-related topics, providing consultation to internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include conducting community outreach, securing grant funding to support program initiatives, and managing all related programmatic and administrative activities to ensure sustainability and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Public Health, Population Health, Health Education)
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in public health, community health, trauma services, injury prevention, or a closely related field
Preferred:
- Experience with program development, community outreach, or data-driven health initiatives
Scheduling Requirements:
- Working Shift: Monday – Friday
- Day Shift
- Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week
Essential Functions:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate injury prevention programs based on community injury data, trauma registry findings, and emerging trends
- Conduct needs assessments to identify at-risk populations and target areas for injury prevention initiatives
- Provide consultation and education to healthcare professionals, community agencies, schools, and public organizations regarding injury prevention strategies
- Research, identify, and secure grant funding opportunities to support program development and expansion
- Maintain detailed documentation related to program operations, outcomes, performance metrics, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary trauma team members, public health partners, and community organizations to promote injury prevention efforts
- Participate in community outreach, health fairs, and educational events representing the Trauma Center
- Perform program-related administrative tasks including scheduling, reporting, budgeting, and data analysis
- Ensure compliance with state and national trauma system requirements and organizational policies
