Position Summary
PNY Technologies is seeking a Senior Procurement Planner / Buyer Planner to support procurement execution, materials planning, supplier management, and contract manufacturing coordination across assigned categories.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working in ERP/MRP systems, managing RFQs and purchase orders, analyzing inventory and supply risk, and partnering closely with suppliers, contract manufacturers, Planning, Operations, Finance, Engineering, Sales, and Product teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong procurement and materials planning experience within a manufacturing, technology, electronics, hardware, or related environment. This person should be able to balance day-to-day buying and planning execution with supplier performance analysis, cost recommendations, inventory control, and continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Buying Execution- Execute day-to-day procurement activities across assigned categories, including RFQs, purchase order issuance, pricing updates, shipment tracking, and purchase order modifications.
- Manage supplier communication related to pricing, delivery schedules, open orders, lead times, shortages, and production requirements.
- Review and maintain procurement-related part, supplier, pricing, and purchase order information within the company’s ERP system.
- Coordinate with internal teams to communicate supplier updates, delivery risks, schedule changes, and issue resolution.
- Support supplier negotiations and pricing discussions through cost analysis, RFQ comparisons, market intelligence, and data-driven recommendations.
- Execute and monitor MRP output to support timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
- Review forecasts, purchasing activity, inventory levels, and supplier commitments to identify risk related to inventory liability, supply constraints, and on-time delivery.
- Partner with Planning on weekly demand reviews, forecast analysis, production planning, and supply alignment.
- Support initiatives to improve supply chain performance, including inventory levels, days of supply, cash-to-cash cycles, flexibility, and information flow.
- Monitor consignment and VMI models where applicable and help ensure inventory accuracy across supplier and contract manufacturing locations.
- Manage day-to-day supplier and contract manufacturer coordination across assigned categories.
- Track supplier performance, including pricing, terms, delivery performance, quality, responsiveness, and overall reliability.
- Support supplier assessments, performance reviews, and Quarterly Business Reviews through data collection, analysis, and presentation development.
- Develop and maintain supplier profiles, including capabilities, financial stability, product/technology alignment, and performance history.
- Work closely with domestic and overseas suppliers to address RFQs, supply issues, shipment schedules, production updates, and open supplier actions.
- Collect and analyze data from supply, inventory, forecast, demand, purchasing, and market sources.
- Perform cost, lead-time, supplier performance, backlog, spend, and category-level analysis.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and recommendations to support Procurement and Supply Chain leadership.
- Benchmark and track key performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and supplier insight to support competitiveness, profitability, and product line decisions.
- Partner with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Inventory Control, and RMA teams to resolve supply, quality, receiving, repair, and delivery-related issues.
- Lead root-cause analysis and issue resolution related to supplier performance, supply delays, receiving discrepancies, quality concerns, and production constraints.
- Track, escalate, and resolve open supplier and contract manufacturer issues.
- Support RMA-related supplier repair and return processes as needed.
- Assist with additional categories, projects, and supply chain initiatives as business needs evolve.
- Support contract manufacturing activities, including consigned parts, raw materials, work orders, material allocations, and finished goods receipts.
- Coordinate with contract manufacturers to balance demand, capacity, asset utilization, and material availability.
- Partner with Finance and Inventory Control to support accurate reconciliation of inventory at contract manufacturing locations.
- Help ensure materials and production schedules are aligned to support customer commitments and business priorities.
- 8+ years of combined experience in procurement, buyer/planner, materials planning, supply planning, supply chain operations, or related roles.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, technology, electronics, hardware, consumer products, or contract manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems, purchase order management, RFQs, supplier coordination, inventory analysis, and production or materials planning.
- Proven experience managing suppliers and/or contract manufacturers, including delivery performance, pricing, lead times, quality, and issue resolution.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare and present cost, supplier, inventory, and performance analysis to management.
- Experience supporting supplier negotiations, pricing discussions, cost-reduction initiatives, and sourcing recommendations.
- Familiarity with consignment inventory and VMI models preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
- Power BI experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, follow-up, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. The final offer will depend on experience, skills, education, internal equity, and budget.
