Billing Specialist

OVERVIEW: The Billing Specialist is responsible for handling and managing invoices in addition to timely collection of payments from ESS clients. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of previous billing experience, along with proficiency in billing software, account reconciliation, and foundational accounting knowledge.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Process and send accurate invoices to customers in a timely manner, ensuring all necessary information is included and correct
Reconcile payments against invoices and resolve any discrepancies
Prepare reports on billing status, outstanding balances, and collection efforts
Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial reporting
Address customer inquiries related to billing and payment issues
Other duties as assigned by Billing Manager
Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field
Three years of previous experience in billing or accounting
High attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to meet strict deadlines
