Red Bank Veterinary Hospital Hillsborough is seeking a full time experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department. Our team is comprised of dedicated veterinary professionals that put an emphasis on making the appointment a positive patient experience.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A technician with at least 5 years of experience in Internal Medicine OR A licensed/certified veterinary technician ( LVT/CVT ) with a strong interest in Internal Medicine
- Rotating Schedule:
- Week 1 = Monday - Thursday 8am - 6pm
- Week 2 = Tuesday - Friday 8am - 6pm.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Veterinary Technician with at least 5 years of anesthesia experience , who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about patient care. This role supports a dynamic internal medicine team and will involve a wide range of responsibilities, from technical procedures to direct client communication. Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery.
- Proficient IV catheter placement, and accurate drug calculations & calculations.
- Quality nursing and husbandry care of patients.
- Strong working knowledge of veterinary procedures and pharmacology.
- Perform in- hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs.
- Perform and/ or participate in all other diagnostics such as radiology, ultrasound, ECG, BP, and glucose monitoring.
- Monitor anesthesia.
- Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education.
- Provide nursing care for in- hospital patients including all veterinarians requested treatments, diagnostics, and medication. Accurately and completely record all treatments.
- Conduct pre- admission exams and discharge hospitalized patients.
- Updates clients appropriately.
- Maintain legally defensible medical records in cooperation with veterinarians.
- Actively engage in nursing rounds.
- 2 years' experience in Internal Medicine
- Excellent veterinary nursing and technician skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong ability to multi- task.
- Clear understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
