Red Bank Veterinary Hospital Hillsborough is seeking a full time experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department. Our team is comprised of dedicated veterinary professionals that put an emphasis on making the appointment a positive patient experience.

Who We’re Looking For:

• A technician with at least 5 years of experience in Internal Medicine OR A licensed/certified veterinary technician ( LVT/CVT ) with a strong interest in Internal Medicine

Schedule:

• Rotating Schedule:
• Week 1 = Monday - Thursday 8am - 6pm
• Week 2 = Tuesday - Friday 8am - 6pm.

Position Overview:
The ideal candidate is an experienced Veterinary Technician with at least 5 years of anesthesia experience , who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about patient care. This role supports a dynamic internal medicine team and will involve a wide range of responsibilities, from technical procedures to direct client communication.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery.
• Proficient IV catheter placement, and accurate drug calculations & calculations.
• Quality nursing and husbandry care of patients.
• Strong working knowledge of veterinary procedures and pharmacology.
• Perform in- hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Perform and/ or participate in all other diagnostics such as radiology, ultrasound, ECG, BP, and glucose monitoring.
• Monitor anesthesia.
• Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education.
• Provide nursing care for in- hospital patients including all veterinarians requested treatments, diagnostics, and medication. Accurately and completely record all treatments.
• Conduct pre- admission exams and discharge hospitalized patients.
• Updates clients appropriately.
• Maintain legally defensible medical records in cooperation with veterinarians.
• Actively engage in nursing rounds.

Required Knowledge/ Skills:

• 2 years' experience in Internal Medicine
• Excellent veterinary nursing and technician skills.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong computer skills.
• Strong ability to multi- task.
• Clear understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
