Optician / Apprentice Optician

We are seeking a motivated Full-Time NJ Licensed Optician or Apprentice Optician to join our optical team. This role blends hands-on optical work with strong patient care, sales, and day-to-day operational responsibilities across our Monmouth County locations, with locations in Eatontown, Holmdel, Little Silver, and Wall Township.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, inspect, and dispense eyewear with accuracy.
• Perform repairs, adjustments, troubleshooting, and quality checks.Collaborate with Medical staff and Doctors to support patient care.
• Assist patients in selecting eyewear that fits their style, prescription, and visual needs.
• Provide exceptional customer service while educating patients on lens options, coatings, and product features.
• Comfortably work with EMR systems for patient orders and workflow.
• Process vision plan benefits, explain insurance coverage, and help patients maximize their benefits.
• Maintain merchandising standards, ensure a clean and organized optical area, and support frame selection and inventory.
• Travel as needed between our Monmouth County locations.
• Support daily optical operations through leadership, teamwork, and clear communication.
• Help maintain the overall aesthetic, cleanliness, and merchandising of the optical department.
• Assist in inventory management including frame ordering, stock levels, and product rotation when needed.
• Work flexible weekday hours with occasional Saturday availability.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Optician or Apprentice Optician preferred.
• Experience in optical, ophthmology, and/or retail sales.
• Strong communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to multitask, organize efficiently, and maintain attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and within a collaborative team environment.
• Willing to learn, grow, and adapt to a busy medical and retail setting.
