The Role

We are seeking an exceptional technology leader to serve as an Application Development Group Manager, driving the strategic vision and execution for our core client and account reference data systems, and other reference data systems. This role represents a unique opportunity to shape the future of wealth technology at one of the world's leading financial institutions by ensuring robust, scalable, and accessible client and account information. 

This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the foundational platforms that manage client and account and reference data across Citi's Global Wealth Management business. They will oversee critical aspects of data management, ensuring data synchronization, developing streamlined data access layers, and leading large-scale system conversions while driving innovation and operational excellence across a complex, global technology landscape. 

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:  Define and execute the technology platform strategy for client and account reference data, driving digital transformation and innovation to achieve business objectives. Partner with business leaders to translate needs into scalable technology solutions for client and account data. 
  • Operational Excellence:  Oversee engineering teams responsible for core client and account data platforms, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability. Drive continuous improvement in system performance, data quality, and operational efficiency. 
  • Stakeholder Management:  Collaborate with business leaders, technology partners, and stakeholders across the organization. Communicate client and account data strategy, progress, and build strong partnerships. 
  • System Design & Implementation:  Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of wealth management client and account reference data systems. 
  • Enterprise Data Synchronization:  Work closely with Enterprise functions to ensure seamless client data synchronization across various systems and platforms. 
  • Data Access Layer Development:  Design, simplify, and implement robust data access layers for client/account reference data, including APIs, event-driven architectures, and batch file processing. 
  • Large-Scale Conversions:  Lead and oversee large-scale data and system conversions, ensuring minimal disruption and successful migration of client and account information. 
  • AI Integration:  Drive the adoption and hands-on application of AI tooling to expedite the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for data-related efforts, enhancing efficiency and quality. Hands on experience with agentic AI, and a variety of AI frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services technology, with a strong focus on wealth management client and account data. 
  • Strong background in data architecture, data governance, master data management, or similar domains related to client/account reference data. 
  • Deep understanding of wealth management, private banking, or investment management business models, particularly regarding client and account data lifecycles. 
  • Experience with trading systems, portfolio management platforms, or client-facing wealth technology as it pertains to client and account reference data. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in financial services (SEC, FINRA, GDPR, etc.) pertaining to client and account data privacy and management. 
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern infrastructure patterns for data storage and processing. 
  • Knowledge of API design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems for building scalable data access layers. 
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, analytics platforms, and real-time processing specific to client and account reference data. 
  • Hands-on experience with AI tooling and its application to expedite the SDLC for data-focused projects. 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience 
  • Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MS in Technology Management, or a related data science field)

$176,720.00 - $265,080.00
