School Support Specialist

Summary

The Mustard Seed Preschool is seeking a dedicated and organized School Support Specialist to assist with both administrative tasks in the main office and classroom
support. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic early childhood environment, providing essential support to staff, students, and families.
Hours are Monday - Friday from 9am - 12pm each day. 15 hours per week maximum. Off on School Holidays and summers.

Duties

Administrative Support (Main Office)
 Assist with daily office operations, including answering phones, responding to
emails, and greeting families.
 Maintain and organize student records, enrollment paperwork, attendance logs,
injury reports and illness logs.
 Support the director with scheduling, filing, and data entry.
 Help prepare and distribute school communications, such as newsletters and
parent notifications.
 Manage supply inventory and assist with ordering classroom and office materials.

Classroom Support
 Provide assistance to teachers in the classroom, including preparing materials
and supervising students as needed.
 Step in as a classroom aide during transitions, snack time, or when additional
support is required.
 Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
 Assist with student needs, including reinforcing classroom routines, positive
behavior expectations, and assisting with diapering and bathroom breaks.

Requirements

Qualifications:
 Experience in an administrative, childcare, or education-related role preferred.
 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
 Ability to multitask and adapt to changing needs throughout the day.
 Friendly, professional, and able to communicate effectively with staff, parents,
and children.
 Must be comfortable working with young children in a preschool setting.

Other Requirements
 Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
 Successful completion of a Child Abuse Record Information background check
and Criminal History Fingerprint Background Check.
 Mantoux TB Test and CPR/AED certification (will train the right candidate)
 Safe Sanctuary training in Ministry Safe.
 Strong communication skills, patience, and a love of working with young children
 Personal profession of faith

Benefits
