WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

We are seeking a Senior AI Mainframe Modernization Engineer to lead the transformation of legacy wealth management systems into agile, AI-powered architectures. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical expertise, executive communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Lead modernization of legacy mainframe systems (e.g., account servicing, trade settlement, portfolio reporting).
  

• Implement AI/ML-assisted code analysis and automated refactoring strategies.
  

• Translate COBOL/VSAM-based workflows into cloud-native microservices using Java, Python , and Groovy .
  

• Design secure, scalable solutions aligned with FINRA, SEC , and internal compliance standards.
  

• Conduct impact assessments and dependency mapping with AI-powered tools .
  

• Interface directly with CIOs, business leaders, and operations executives to align technical strategy with business outcomes.
  

• Define hybrid cloud migration strategies (AWS/Azure) for enterprise workloads.
  

• Drive DevOps implementation and automation with Jenkins, GitLab, and Groovy-based pipelines .
  

• Support agile transformation and innovation for wealth platforms using GenAI and modern engineering practices.
  

Scheduled Hours: Monday–Friday (Full-time availability expected)

YOU: (Required Skills)

Are experienced in each of:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in mainframe modernization in financial services
  

• Hands-on knowledge of IBM z/OS, COBOL, JCL , and migration to Java/Python stacks
  

• Strong Groovy scripting skills for automation, builds, and testing
  

• Experience in CI/CD with GitLab, Jenkins, and cloud-based DevOps workflows
  

• Proven ability to communicate modernization strategy to C-level executives and technology leadership
  

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:

Also bring experience with:

• Wealth/Asset Management platforms: onboarding, portfolio management, trade lifecycle, and reconciliation
  

• Investment platforms, RIA tech stacks, or institutional wealth platforms
  

• AI-driven tools for dependency analysis and code translation (e.g., IBM ADDI, Modern Systems, LLM-based refactoring)
  

• Deployment of modernized services to AWS or Azure , including serverless or Kubernetes environments
  

• Cloud and AI certifications (e.g., AWS Developer, Microsoft AI Engineer, Google ML Engineer)
  

• Exposure to regulatory reporting frameworks like MiFID II , Form ADV , or equivalent
