TEMP BUYER SPECIALIST

• Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday - 8am-4:30pm
• Employment Type: Temporary - 6 months (potential for hire)
• Pay Rate: $35-$40/hr
• Location: Whippany, NJ

Buyer Specialist– Key Responsibilities

• Purchase products, materials, or services based on company needs
• Identify and evaluate suppliers for quality, price, reliability, and delivery performance
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules
• Create and issue purchase orders and ensure accuracy of specifications
• Monitor inventory levels and plan replenishment to avoid shortages or overstock
• Track order status and follow up on delayed or incomplete deliveries
• Ensure purchases comply with company policies, budgets, and quality standards
• Collaborate with internal teams (production, sales, finance)
• Resolve supplier issues related to quality, quantity, or delivery discrepancies
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
• Support cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives

Optional (role-dependent)

• Vendor performance evaluation and reporting
• Sustainability or ethical sourcing compliance
• Import/export coordination and customs documentation
