Nurse - Recovery Center
Reports To: Director of Nursing
Salary: $60K-$65K Position Overview:
The Nurse provides comprehensive nursing services to patients, serving as a link between patients, physicians, and outside medical resources. This role supports medical and psychiatric care, participates in treatment planning, and responds to emergency medical situations. All services are provided under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Responsibilities:
- Conduct medical and history screenings
- Provide routine nursing care and detox monitoring
- Administer medications and follow physician orders
- Monitor withdrawal stages and implement detox protocols
- Assist physicians and psychiatrists in patient care
- Participate in interdisciplinary and treatment team meetings
- Document all patients care in compliance with licensure standards
- Respond to medical emergencies and initiate referrals
- Educate patients on medications and health conditions
- Maintain communication with outside medical providers
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with all privacy laws
- Maintain required certifications and continuing education
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Graduate of a Community College with a Practical Nurse (PN) degree
- Minimum 1 year in chemical dependency and/or psychiatric settings
- Preferred experience:
- Detox units
- Inpatient, partial hospitalization, or outpatient programs
- Blood draws
- Health education classes
- Detox experience preferred for detox locations
- No felony convictions within the past 5 years
- Active nursing license in the appropriate state
- Current CPR certification
- Addiction and mental health conditions
- Stress management, ethics, teamwork, and problem-solving
- Alcohol and drug effects on individuals and families
- Medical emergency recognition and response
- Overdose and withdrawal procedures
- Federal, state, and local regulations, including:
- Confidentiality
- Patient rights
- Professional ethics
- Non-discrimination
- Universal precautions and infection control (TB, HIV, HB, etc.)
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule and role changes
- Background check completed and approved per regulations
- Computer

- Fax/Xerox machine
- Calculator
- Standing, walking, bending, crouching, carrying, pushing, sitting
- Lifting requirements:
- Light (1–20 lbs)
- Medium (21–50 lbs)
- Heavy (51+ lbs)
- High mental focus and stress management
- Frequent interaction with patients and staff
- Routine exposure to blood and body fluids
- Use of universal precaution PPE required
- Medium to high risk of workplace violence
- Complete required admission documentation within 24 hours
- Transcribe and implement physician orders
- Conduct nursing assessments and vitals
- Perform suicide screenings and waived testing
- Manage medication dispensing and staff training
- Participate in in-service training, meetings, and committees
- Report on privacy or policy violations without retaliation
- Access PHI only as necessary to perform job duties
- Share patient information strictly for treatment, payment, or operations
- Full compliance with GRNH, LLC privacy policies and federal/state laws
