Architectural CAD/GIS Draftsperson

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Draftsperson with strong AutoCAD and GIS skills to support a variety of projects, including site plans, mapping, and municipal deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a background in drafting architectural and site layouts while integrating geospatial data. Experience with tax maps or parcel mapping is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural and site drawings using AutoCAD.
• Integrate GIS datasets (e.g., parcels, utilities, wetlands, zoning, or infrastructure data) into CAD drawings.
• Assist in the creation, maintenance, and revision of tax maps and related municipal mapping projects.
• Interpret deeds, plats, and legal descriptions to support mapping accuracy.
• Work closely with engineers, surveyors, and planners to produce deliverables that meet client and municipal standards.
• Maintain organized CAD/GIS files and ensure drawings adhere to company and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of drafting experience (architectural, civil, or survey focus).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D, Map 3D, or Architecture).
• Experience with GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with tax maps, parcel mapping, or assessor’s data strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical documents (deeds, plats, construction drawings).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills (not required)

• Carlson or MicroStation experience.
• Knowledge of municipal or county mapping standards.
• Background working with survey data.
