About the Company & Project

Our client is a leading global construction consultancy renowned for delivering high-profile, complex, iconic, large-scale capital projects.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and accomplished Quality Inspector for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute to this landmark project that is poised to deliver transformative impacts across economic, transportation, and environmental sustainability.

The busiest rail connection between New York, New Jersey, and the Northeast Corridor, the Hudson Tunnel Project will improve capacity, reliability, and resiliency of commuter and intercity rail transit serving 800,000 daily passengers from Washington, D.C. to New York and New England. This is a milestone project that is slated to receive nearly $12 billion in federal funding, the largest investment in a mass transit project in modern history.

As the Quality Inspector, you'll play a pivotal role in the delivery of this significant project. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a mission that aligns with our clients purpose: to create responsible places that bring transformative impact to their people, communities, and societies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site inspections to assess construction methods, materials, and workmanship for alignment with project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in executing and monitoring the Quality Management Plan, ensuring procedures are properly followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct audits of contractors and subcontractors to confirm compliance with defined quality protocols and package-specific requirements.
  • Review contractor testing and inspection plans, evaluate test results, and maintain accurate testing logs.
  • Provide feedback on quality documentation and support project management with actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain organized records of inspections, testing, acceptance activities, and punch list items.
  • Document nonconforming work, track corrective actions, and monitor resolution of quality issues.
  • Coordinate and oversee materials testing, including off-site lab work by independent organizations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety procedures related to quality assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance, inspection, or construction management on large infrastructure or transportation projects.
  • Familiarity with federally funded projects and regulatory compliance is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of construction practices, materials testing, and quality control procedures.
  • Experience with document control systems and quality management frameworks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic project management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Comfortable working in field environments and adapting to evolving project demands.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
