The Role
You will be a key contributor in designing and building the foundational infrastructure that powers Oracle's next-generation AI agents . These agents are designed to automate complex healthcare workflows-from clinical decision support to patient communication to reimbursement processes. Your expertise in backend systems, data platforms, and distributed architecture will directly enable AI-first solutions that drive outcomes for clinicians, patients, and healthcare operations.
Responsibilities

Architect and implement scalable backend services and data platforms to support autonomous agents in clinical, patient-facing, and revenue workflows.

Lead the development of core agent infrastructure, including orchestration, memory, tool use, and agent chaining capabilities.

Build and optimize real-time data ingestion and processing pipelines using technologies like Kafka, Flink, Ray, and RabbitMQ.

Design and implement advanced search and retrieval systems to support RAG pipelines and semantic access to structured and unstructured healthcare data.

Ensure platform security, privacy, and regulatory compliance, with strong understanding of HIPAA and healthcare-grade data handling.

Collaborate with AI/ML researchers, product teams, and healthcare experts to deliver production-grade intelligent agents.

Contribute to conversational reasoning interfaces, long-running workflows, and interaction models between agents and end users.

Drive architectural decisions, code quality, and reliability best practices across the team.

Mentor junior engineers and help scale a world-class engineering culture within the team.

Stay current on emerging trends in AI infrastructure, multi-agent systems, and healthcare technology to help shape platform direction.
Qualifications
-
BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.

10+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering, ideally in domains with high reliability and scale.

Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages, and building RESTful APIs and microservices.

Deep understanding of cloud-native development and infrastructure (OCI, AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization, and CI/CD practices.

Experience with distributed systems, data processing frameworks (Kafka, Flink, Ray), and search technologies (OpenSearch, Pinecone, Vespa).

Strong knowledge of system design principles, data architecture, and secure data handling practices.

Exposure to LLMs or agent-based architectures is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Demonstrated technical leadership and experience mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
