The REO Valuation and Repair Specialist is responsible for assessing the condition of REO properties coordinating and overseeing repairs determining accurate property valuations and reconciling values from various sources to support the sale and management of our REO portfolio.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Review inspections of REO properties to assess their condition and identify necessary repairs.

• Develop and implement repair plans including obtaining bids selecting contractors and coordinating the completion of work to ensure it meets quality standards and timelines.

• Read and understand contractor repair bids to determine their reasonability and ensure they align with company policies and making adjustments to submitted claims.

• Order and review property valuations using a variety of methods including comparative market analysis (CMA) broker price opinions (BPO) appraisals and automated valuation models (AVMs).

• Reconcile the value of REO properties by analyzing and comparing data from multiple valuation sources to arrive at the most accurate and defensible value.

• Prepare detailed reports on property conditions repair status and valuations.

• Collaborate with our asset managers real estate agents contractors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient property management and disposition.

• Monitor market trends and provide insights to inform property valuation and marketing strategies.

• Monitor property valuation and repair review orders following up with vendors as needed and ensuring vendor SLAs are met.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the property management system.

• Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

Basic Education and Prior Work-Related Experience :

• Degree Requirement: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience

• Work Experience: 6 or more years of prior work experience

Additional Qualifications

• Appraisal Underwriting Experience

• Understanding of property condition and property ratings

• 3 years collateral decision-making responsibility

• Demonstrate expertise in underwriting proficiently in appraisals

Preferred Education Level : Bachelors Degree

Preferred Years of Prior Work-Related Experience : 10
