As a consultant within the PPE team, you will work with our clients to define their digital strategy and execution roadmap, and design and implement differentiated digital solutions to help deliver measurable value.

Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced Appian Software Developer and Lead with specialized skills in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR). The ideal candidate will leverage Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) capabilities to extract and process text from scanned documents, including both printed and handwritten text. This role will play a pivotal part in transforming document-heavy workflows into automated and efficient processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance Appian-based applications with integrated OCR and ICR functionalities.
  • Implement and optimize Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) features for efficient text extraction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy automated workflows.
  • Integrate Appian solutions with third-party tools and APIs to enhance document processing capabilities.
  • Ensure the security and scalability of Appian applications in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and iterative development to refine OCR/ICR accuracy and performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, workflows, and test plans.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in OCR/ICR technology and Appian platform enhancements.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Appian BPM platform development.
  • Proven expertise in implementing OCR and ICR solutions within Appian.
  • Deep understanding of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) capabilities.
  • Proficiency in integrating external OCR/ICR tools (e.g., ABBYY, Tesseract) with Appian applications.
  • Strong skills in Appian components like SAIL, Process Models, and Records.
  • Solid experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms for document recognition.
  • Experience with cloud-based deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of Appian RPA and AI integrations.
  • Understanding of security frameworks for sensitive document processing.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
