Position Summary:
The Kitchen Helper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment in accordance with facility standards and regulatory guidelines. This position supports the Food Service Manager by performing cleaning, dishwashing, and sanitation duties, and may also be assigned to assist with food service and meal delivery as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform all cleaning and sanitation tasks in the kitchen, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and floor care.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Assist with proper storage and organization of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Support meal service by assisting as a server when assigned.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or supply shortages to the Food Service Manager.
• Follow daily task lists and complete assignments as directed.
• Maintain professional and respectful communication with staff, residents, and guests.

Qualifications:

• Prior kitchen or food service experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Ability to follow directions and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to sanitation and safety standards.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including some weekends and holidays.

Schedule:
Full-time, with shifts that include weekends.

Work Environment:
Fast-paced kitchen environment in a senior living/healthcare setting.
