Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join a leading design-build firm in New Jersey. This role is based in Westfield, NJ, and offers a competitive salary range of $90,000-$150,000, depending on experience.
As Superintendent, you will oversee all aspects of construction site operations from start to finish. You will be responsible for developing and managing project schedules, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications, and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. You will also serve as the primary contact for inspections and project closeouts, while leading teams to meet deadlines and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of commercial construction experience and approximately ten years of overall construction experience, including managing subcontractors and job site operations. Strong organizational skills, the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schedules, and excellent communication and leadership abilities are essential. OSHA certification is preferred. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to safety and quality. - Coordinate and supervise the work of subcontractors and laborers
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients and project managers
- Prepare and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- OSHA certification is a plus
