Part-Time Ophthalmic Technician / Medical Receptionist

Location: Brick NJ
Schedule: Part-Time (20–24 hours per week)

Are you friendly, organized, and passionate about providing outstanding patient care? Our busy, patient-focused optometry practice is looking for a Part-Time Ophthalmic Technician / Medical Receptionist to join our team. Experience in eye care is a plus but is not required —we are happy to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and check in patients with a friendly, professional attitude
• Schedule appointments and manage the daily appointment calendar
• Answer phones and assist patients with questions
• Perform patient pre-testing before the doctor examination (training provided)
• Learn and use our electronic medical records (EMR) system (training provided)
• Collect co-pays, payments, and balances due
• Prepare invoices and process patient transactions
• Verify vision and medical insurance benefits
• Submit insurance claims and assist with insurance-related tasks
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality
• Work collaboratively with the doctor and team to provide an exceptional patient experience

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable using computers and learning new software
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Previous medical, dental, optical, or customer service experience is helpful but not required
