Business Information Security Officer

Akkodis is seeking a Business Information Security Officer for a Contract with a client in Jersey City, NJ(Hybrid). This role drives the integration of cybersecurity across business units and requires strong expertise in assessing technological risks and advising security controls.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Business Information Security Officer job responsibilities include:

• Act as the primary cybersecurity liaison for the line of business, translating business needs into security requirements and ensuring alignment with Cybersecurity leadership.

• Identify and assess technology risks while guiding the business in making informed, secure decisions.

• Support key initiatives by ensuring cybersecurity controls and design requirements are embedded early in project and software development lifecycles.

• Provide security architecture and policy‑based guidance, ensuring adherence to IT standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.

• Monitor emerging security trends, technologies, and industry best practices to strengthen the organization’s security posture.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to address cybersecurity concerns, respond to inquiries, and report progress and risk metrics to leadership for transparency.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 8–10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, risk management, or governance roles supporting business or technology functions.

• Strong ability to assess technology risks and translate cybersecurity policies, standards, and controls into actionable business guidance.

• Proven experience partnering with business stakeholders to integrate security into projects, development lifecycles, and strategic initiatives.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $60.00 per hour
