We are seeking an experienced and passionate part-time Medical Assistant Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree, a background in both lecture and lab instruction, and a commitment to providing high-quality education in alignment with the MAERB (Medical Assisting Education Review Board) standards and curriculum. As a Medical Assistant Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching the clinical and administrative aspects of medical assisting, including both theory (lecture) and hands-on practice (lab). You will be guiding students through the essentials of medical office management, clinical procedures, patient care, and medical terminology in accordance with the MAERB curriculum.
This is a part-time, hourly position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach medical assistant courses, including lecture and lab components, in compliance with the MAERB curriculum standards.
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures, lab exercises, and hands-on activities to enhance student learning.
- Evaluate student progress through exams, quizzes, assignments, and practical assessments.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic progress and performance.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical assisting practices, trends, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the Director of the program, faculty, and staff to improve and enhance the curriculum and program delivery.
- Ensure all lab and clinical activities adhere to safety protocols and best practices.
- Assist in recruitment, retention and success of students.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Associate’s degree in medical assisting, Health Science or related field
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CCMA, CMA, RMA)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Registered Nurse with 2 years clinical experience
- Preferred: Minimum 2 years of live teaching experience in Medical Assisting or related field
- In depth knowledge of Medical Assisting procedures, patient care, medical office management
- Familiarity with MAERB standards and accreditation requirements
- Ability to teach both theoretical content and hands-on skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for educating and mentoring students
- Must be committed to the courses assigned
Supplemental Information:
- The courses are offered Fall/Spring 15 week semesters
- Supportive and collaborative work environment
- Courses taught on Passaic Campus
- Experience working with diverse populations preferred
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $35-$50.
