Medical Billing Specialist

Our client is a multi-specialty medical group seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join their revenue cycle team. This role is responsible for processing insurance claims, following up on denials, and ensuring accurate patient billing.

You'll work closely with providers, insurance companies, and patients to maximize reimbursement and maintain clean accounts receivable.

Responsibilities

• Submit medical claims to insurance carriers accurately and timely
• Review and resolve claim denials and rejections
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
• Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts
• Follow up on outstanding claims and aged accounts
• Answer patient billing inquiries and set up payment plans
• Ensure proper coding and documentation for claims
• Generate billing reports and track key metrics

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle
• Knowledge of medical billing codes including CPT and ICD-10
• Familiarity with insurance processes including Medicare and Medicaid
• Experience with EMR and practice management software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage high volume and meet deadlines
• Medical billing certification is a plus but not required
