Job Title: Superintendent – Heavy Civil Infrastructure
Location: Newark, NJ
Salary Range: Up to $275,000 (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Full-Time

SkillForce has partnered with one of the leading civil, building and specialty construction companies to find a Superintendent to lead a major transportation infrastructure project based in Newark, NJ. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering a transformative project that enhances regional connectivity and mobility.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise construction efforts to ensure the project is built in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee on-site functions including scheduling and subcontractor coordination
• Ensure compliance with contract documents, efficient use of materials and equipment, and timely execution of the project schedule
• Provide technical support including drawing interpretation and construction method recommendations
• Assist project management in developing schedules, logistics plans, and implementing project procedures
• Support and enforce the Site-Specific Safety Plan
• Coordinate with on-site owner representatives and stakeholders
• Perform additional assignments as directed by project leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of supervisory field experience on large-scale ($300M+) heavy civil infrastructure projects
• At least 12 years of superintendent or craft supervision experience in new construction, including piles, concrete, structural steel, and mechanical installations
• Strong knowledge of U.S. construction methods, safety protocols, and industry standards
• Experience with city, state, and federal government clients preferred
• Familiarity with union environments and local labor requirements
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, and Procore (or equivalent)
• OSHA 30 and First Aid certifications required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
