Vice President, Corporate Affairs
Job Overview:
The Vice President of Corporate Affairs is a key executive responsible for supporting the organization’s external and internal communications, public policy and government relations, stakeholder engagement, labor relations and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
This role ensures the company’s interests are represented with stakeholders, aligns messaging with corporate strategy, and enhances the company’s reputation in the marketplace.
Reports To:
- The Vice President, Corporate Affairs reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Chief External Affairs and Policy Officer.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in corporate affairs, public relations, government relations, or similar roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful communications and stakeholder engagement strategies
- Strong understanding of public policy, regulatory environments, and government processes
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage complex issues and crises with professionalism and strategic insight
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
- High ethical standards and commitment to corporate responsibility
Essential Functions:
Strategic Communications:
- Support the development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies that promote the company s vision, mission, and values to internal and external audiences
Government Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the business and advocate for the company’s interests
Public Policy & Advocacy:
- Lead efforts to influence public policy and regulatory environments in alignment with business objectives
- Prepare policy briefs and position papers as needed
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Identify, engage, and manage relationships with key stakeholders including customers, partners, investors, community leaders, and media
Reputation Management:
- Monitor and manage the company s reputation
- Respond to crises and issues as they arise, ensuring clear and consistent communication with all relevant parties
