Job Summary

As a Catering Manager, you will lead the day-to-day catering operations of a high-volume corporate dining catering program in Jersey City, NJ. Th is role will ensure seamless execution of events from planning through breakdown. This role combines hands-on event leadership with operational oversight, including training and directing staff, managing inventory and administrative processes, and delivering exceptional client service.

You will serve as a key partner to the Catering Director, providing daily operational support and backup coverage, while also collaborating cross-functionally with Workplace Experience teams and stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and brings a polished, client-facing presence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises/executes all catering events.
  • Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and all facility-related activities. 
  • Works with the Chef in creating menus.
  • Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
  • Tracks and monitors the labor and food costs for each event.
  • Communicates on various levels to include management, client, customer, and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.
  • Assists in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • At least 5 years of catering management experience in a high-volume setting is required.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, fine dining, and/or related food service operations preferred.
  • Catering experience is required.
  • Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
  • ServSafe Certification.
