Line Cook
Corto is a neighborhood restaurant in Jersey City known for thoughtful, ingredient-driven cooking and a collaborative kitchen environment. We are looking for a cook who takes pride in craft, works clean and organized, and enjoys being part of a small, focused team.
This role involves working across multiple stations in a tight, highly coordinated kitchen. Responsibilities include prep work, pasta production, vegetable and protein cookery, plating during service, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. Our menu changes regularly and relies on seasonal ingredients, so attention to detail and consistency are essential.
The ideal candidate is reliable, curious, and motivated to grow as a cook. Experience in a professional kitchen is preferred, but attitude, work ethic, and respect for ingredients matter most. Our team works closely together, and everyone contributes to maintaining the standards that Corto is known for.
We are looking for someone who enjoys the rhythm of service, takes feedback well, and wants to be part of a restaurant that values quality, teamwork, and hospitality.
