Lead Operations & Systems Support Specialist –
Position Overview
The Lead Operations & Systems Support Specialist is responsible for providing hands-on operational leadership while serving as the primary technical resource for inventory systems, WMS platforms, data tools, and site-level reporting. This role blends strong computer expertise with operational knowledge to support daily workflows, troubleshoot system issues, streamline processes, and ensure accurate, efficient fulfillment activities. The ideal candidate is a “tech-minded” operations leader who enjoys problem-solving, training others, and optimizing systems to improve overall site performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Support
- Assist with daily warehouse and fulfillment workflows, ensuring accurate receiving, picking, packing, and inventory control.
- Monitor productivity, process flow, and system-driven tasks to support smooth operation of all departments.
- Provide hands-on coverage or leadership in areas needing support, guidance, or troubleshooting.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Technical & Systems Expertise
- Serve as the on-site expert for WMS platforms, RF scanners, dashboards, reports, and related fulfillment technologies.
- Troubleshoot system errors, user issues, and equipment problems to minimize downtime.
- Maintain data integrity within the WMS through audits, exception reviews, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Operations, IT, and corporate support teams to resolve system escalations.
Process Improvements & Analytics
- Analyze data to identify trends, errors, or opportunities for optimization.
- Assist in implementing new processes, SOP updates, and system enhancements.
- Develop spreadsheets, reports, and tools to support productivity monitoring and operational visibility.
Training & Leadership
- Train new employees and existing staff on systems, handheld equipment, and software tools.
- Support supervisors and leads by providing technical guidance and operational best practices.
- Act as a resource for troubleshooting and escalation during production shifts.
Qualifications
- Strong computer proficiency; ability to navigate WMS software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment operations.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret data and solve problems.
- Excellent communication and training ability.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while supporting both technical and operational needs.
