Garland Food is committed to producing high-quality food products through strict quality standards and continuous improvement. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Control Technician to join our team on the second shift.
Position Overview:
As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every product meets our high standards of quality and safety. You will conduct inspections throughout the production process, maintain compliance with regulatory and internal specifications, and help drive quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations as well as company standards and specifications.
- Calibrate and maintain quality control equipment.
- Conduct inspections across all production stages to ensure product consistency and quality.
- Prepare and maintain test data for review, identifying deviations from established standards.
- Evaluate data, draft reports, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Proactively identify opportunities for quality control improvements and implement new methods.
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns promptly to the appropriate teams.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in quality control within food manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with fresh produce inspection is essential
- High school diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of food safety standards and quality control processes
- Comfortable with basic math skills: fractions, ratios, proportions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks on the production floor
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Preferred: Spanish language skills are a plus
- Familiarity with documentation and traceability systems
